I feel weird watching this.

I mean, obviously, I’m upset, but I’m no where as near as upset as like my dad or my brother, who I haven’t seen since the second half.  This is kind of how all playoff games have gone for me in a while.  Everyone around me gets upset; I get numb.  I think 2003 eliminated all negative feeling for me; nothing compares.  Nothing comes close.

If anything, it’s clear they desperately need a second scorer.  Derrick cannot do it all, and he’s pressing too much.  The nice thing about the Heat is that, if one struggles, there are two more to pick up the slack (and say what you what about Chris Bosh, he’s stepped it up in this series).  Even if it’s just three guys and a bunch of nothing, it’s proving to be enough over one superstar and a struggling offense.

I’m writing like I’m all ready conceding the series, and I pretty much am.  It just sucks that this season is going to end like this.

"Bulls win, Bulls win."

That game was incredible.  I can’t even stress how proud I am of them to come back after that first half.  Especially Luol.  He’s putting together such a nice little year and what a fucking third quarter and fourth quarter three.  It’s been unbelievable to watch this team grow.

And I also loved how Chris Bosh had BS flop call and then ended up with a historically bad night.  Poetic karma has been served.

I don’t know how many of my followers are ~basketball friendly, but this all needed to be said.

Awesome sports weekend completed:

  • Bulls beat Miami, Derrick Rose goes toe-to-toe with Dwyane Wade and proves that he does, in fact, deserve to be among the elite class of players now in the NBA.
  • Bears beat the Seahawks and are set up for perhaps the most epoc NFC Championship game in recent memory.  Seriously, to either beat the Packers to get to the Superbowl or to get sent home due to the Packers - either way, I am refusing to leave my house for my own safety.
  • And the Cubs briefly returned to me; although no games were sadly played, the reminder of baseball was just enough.

another one! hahaha

What goes around, comes around. Nice work. I’m glad my original idea was taken and transformed into this. Now if only Gasol put the same effort & determination into showing up for big games…
THANK YOU.

So, the 95-96 Chicago Bulls didn’t lose their fourth game until February 4th.

We have our fourth Miami Heat loss on November 11th.

This has been a basketball post.

"Those guys’ biggest goal is to win a championship and not try to win 72 games. But if Jeff Van Gundy wants to take a bet, I would bet him that they won’t break it. You can put a lot of great players together, but it’s about building chemistry. There have been a lot of great teams put together. But that doesn’t really seal the deal."

- Scottie Pippen, on Jeff Van Gundy’s prediction that the Miami Heat will be the 72-win record set by the ‘95-‘96 Chicago Bulls.
